2019 MIPS Dashboards 

The rollout of the 2019 Promoting Interoperability (PI) dashboards was completed last month.

• Clients hosted on the eClinicalWorks cloud do not have to take any action.
• Locally hosted and client-server practices must install patch 6171 or patch 6522.

In order to view PI data, the set-up page must be saved after the patch is applied.

A practice must be on eClinicalWorks V11 to view data on the MIPS 2019 dashboards. If you have not yet upgraded to V11, please work with your Strategic Account Manager to schedule your upgrade.

Weekly computations for the 2019 MIPS dashboards Quality Measures started March 1, and PI computations began in mid-May for all practices that have completed the 2019 MIPS set-up. Computations are scheduled each weekend.

MIPS – Quality Performance Category

eCQMS (EHR measures) computations are based on 2019 specification. The CQMs (Registry measures) quality measures computation are based on 2018 specifications and will be updated to 2019 specifications by the end of September.

• Reach out to your analyst to add any applicable new structured data options for documentation of eCQM or CQMs.

eClinicalWorks has added three MIPS CQMs to the list of measures supported for the Registry:

• #290 — Parkinson’s Disease: Psychiatric Symptoms Assessment for Patients with Parkinson’s Disease
• #291 — Parkinson’s Disease: Cognitive Impairment or Dysfunction Assessment for Patients with Parkinson’s Disease
• #293 — Parkinson’s Disease: Rehabilitative Therapy Options

MIPS – Promoting Interoperability Performance Category

The 2019 PI user guides are available on my.eclinicalworks.com → Knowledge → QPP/MIPS → Documentation → PI → 2019 PI User Guide.

The workflow for the bonus measure – Query of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program — will be available at the end of June, and the measure will be available on the MIPS dashboard by the end of July.

• For each bonus measure, you need only one patient in the numerator to earn 5 points.
• For the “Provide Patients Electronic Access to Their Health Information” measure, in addition to web-enabling the patient for Patient Portal on or before their first visit during the performance period, you must also enable FHIR API at or before the beginning of the PI performance period.

In eClinicalWorks V11, you can enable FHIR API from the Product Activation screen → Interoperability Hub.

Medication Updates

As part of the 2019 medication value-set updates, we will be utilizing strength and formulation along with medication name for quality measures computation. Hence, we recommend entering strength and formulations for any medications that are either being prescribed or being added to the current medication list.
